The Vibrant Capsule is designed to mechanically induce a normal peristaltic wave in the large intestine, thus aiding in relieving constipated patients.
What we need:
Subjects aged 22 years and older
Chronic Idiopathic Constipation (CIC) according to Rome III criteria who Have not experienced relief of symptoms
Average of: S2.5 Spontaneous Bowel Movements (SBM) per week and 2:1 SBM per week
Normal Colonoscopy within 5 years prior to study participation (Unless subjects are <50 and without symptoms)
Female subjects must have a negative blood pregnancy test- and must not be lactating
What we cannot have:
History of:
Complicated/obstructive diverticular disease
Significant gastrointestinal disorder (IBD or gastrointestinal malignancy)
Gastroparesis
Clinical evidence of significant respiratory, cardiovascular, renal, hepatic, biliary, endocrine, psychiatric or neurologic disease
